New Cumnock

Scottish Gaelic: Cumnag Nuadh

A small Scottish town of

around three thousand people in East Ayrshire.

Burns Cottage has views over clear hills. In former times near by there were open cast coal mines. In the distant past the area was visited by William Wallace and Robert the Bruce.

There are miles of beautiful countryside. Lochs and wild life.

 

The local area has association with

Robert Burns, Scottish Poet and Lyricist born 1759 died 1796

William Wallace, Guardian of Scotland born 1270 - died 1305

Robert the Bruce, King of the Scots 1306 1329

James Keir Hardie, First Labour Member of Parliament.
